| A Brooklyn native, Shani A. Faure was born in December of
1979. The proverbial star was born soon after.
As a youth she participated in all the requisite child activities.
YMCA, Girl Scouts, etc. planting an early seed for positive
self-esteem, growth and community responsibility. That seed
took deep root and blossomed as she has continued to remain
conscious of her community's needs and still allocates free
time to such causes.
Another early planting started with an episode of Solid Gold.
Born with a love for music, the visual stimulation
of the show catapulted her into her own performances. Her
audiences were very supportive and encouraging, albeit they
preferred she perform "aside" the television as
opposed to it being her back-up. At a frisky 5, she was enrolled
in dance and honed her skills for the next 8 years. Never
to be pigeon-holed as one dimensional, she spent her high
school years playing 2 instruments and engaging in athletics.
Somewhere along the way she found time to allocate to the
school's paper, magazine and become an outstanding member
of it's student union. The community was still priority as
well.
The years to follow were spent earning her degree in hospitality.
Her excellence had her appointed as president of the National
Society of Minorities in Hospitality for 3 years while attending
Morgan State University.
Before her 21st birthday, young Ms. Faure had checked quite
a bit off of her life's "to-do list". She had near
completed her degree, traveled extensively and was independent.
She would soon pursue a bartending certification (a technicality
due to her age, not her ambition). She would eventually double
her workload with her new career and by claiming her piece
of the entrepeneur pie with her own entertainment, traveling,
phone and energy ventures. Her original major (Business Administration:
Johnson C. University) would have proved invaluable as another
seed planted long ago began to take root. With several acheivements
in place on her mantle, she decided to scratch the itch of
the modeling bug.
She credits Robert C. Stephens as the person who helped her
truly define "what is a model"? He aided her in
understanding the "art" of modelling and it's business
aspects. Her runway training began under Models with Monique
and continued under Geminii Models. Seeing the fierce competion
and dedication necessary to be a professional model has only
appealed to Shani's nature of excellence.
Shani Faure is currently pursuing her career back in New
York and is open to spokesmodeling, runway, calendar and
artistic (non-offensive) work. Ms. Faure is also a Fashion program
coordinator for a well known public relations firm in NYC.
